The Thailand Film Center Foundation is a new and innovative solution to a combination of changes that is happening ever so quickly within the film and its related industries. The film industry is now intrinsically linked to the internet in so many ways. Film productions can now be fully funded through internet crowd-funding. Distribution may be limited only to viewers using mobile devices. Films are no longer only made for the big-screen or TV. There is now have a new channel to fund, market and distribute film projects. It is important that young filmmakers are educated to use all these resources available to them.
As the world becomes smaller, more professionals decide to make another country their home, bringing with them varied experiences & skillsets that are often not easily obtainable to the local community. There needs to be a way to connect these likeminded souls and to offer a community hub; A place to meet, learn, explore and create. This is the Thailand Film Center Foundation.
Our foundation has the goal of becoming self-sustaining by way of “walking-the-talk”. We intend to use the internet to offer services as a way of creating revenue with TFC related websites. We will also offer specific foundation sponsorships to related commercial interests. Furthermore we will have a range of premium member services, at low costs but offering high value. We will be innovative and out-of-the-box in our ways and means to support the TFC to promote the Thailand Film Industry and its youngest stars and start-ups.

The Thailand Film Center will offer a wide range of resources to its community members. These resources will be either free or at a very low price, offering exceptional value for money. The resources can be seperated into the following catagories.
Meeting rooms & Meeting spaces | Green-screen studio, Audio studio | Post-production Editing, Coloring & Sound design studios | Marketing Services & Film Distribution | Camera, Lighting, Sound, Grip equipment & all logistical support equipment.
1. Community
We will have communal lounges where anyone can hang out, meet like minded community members and in this way build networks and teams for current & future projects. The lounge will also be a casual area to work on their laptops and catch up with their work. We will offer hot-seat workstations. We will work with the local film industry to provide opportunities for interns & paid crew positions as well as them offering project support & even potential financing.
2. Education
There are many expat foreigners in Thailand who has a vast wealth of filmmaking experience knowledge and education. There is also a great wealth of this knowledge within senior filmmakers in Thailand. We will encourage lectures and workshops where this knowledge can be expressed and shared.
3. Spaces
we will as quickly as funding allows, create production spaces fully equiped with state of the art computing and production equipment. Here is a list of the spaces we will create:
+ Pre-production & planning meeting rooms
+ Green-screen recording studio
+ Music recording studio
+ Whisper style voice recording booth
+ Post production Mac & PC Editing Stations
+ Fully equiped specialist Coloring workstation
+ Specialist Animation workstation
+ Sound Design studio
These will be available to our community where they can develop their talents and their own commercial projects.
4. Work
The film industry has always been the type of industry that often mixes work from home with restaurant & hotel lobby meetings but nothing is better than to meet your client in a purpose built meeting room with all the tools at hand to promote with full confidence you pitch. To enable this we will offer our community members a prominent board where they can place the name of their company (or self) and present the TFC as their office. They can use our meeting rooms and our private offices as and when they need them.
Who is behind The TFC.
Mr. Shayne L. van Vlerken is a pioneer of the internet in Thailand. Since 1996 he has been operating internet realated services and establishing "firsts" in Thailand and Asia.
Mr. van Vlerken established one of the first web-development companies in Thailand growinng it to more than 100 employees and counting as its shareholders IEC (owned by the Royal Family) and a prominent telecomunications company.
Mr. van vlerken pioneered internet marketing in Thailand before the advertising agncies got to grips with the new technology, infact becoming the local representative for Yahoo, the leading internet search providor at the time.
He also created the software for the first securities company online trading platforms and then joined with many financial institutions, banks and government deparments to create their online financial solutions.
Mr. van Vlerken was the SUN Microsystem Strategic Alliance Partner for South East Asia for all JAVA programming. He created the first financial-portal that integrated all financial information from Thailand's leading brokers and created the first online shopping sites with more than 15,000 shops including enter and Chatuchak weekend marketplace. Further he created the first department-store, marketplace and grocery-shopping websites and many other firsts. These were all sucessfully sold to commercial enterprises.
Mr van Vlerken has maintained his involvment with the intrnet with subsequent investments and company positions.
From the above it is obvious that Mr. van Vlerken has an up to date and a in-depth knowledge of the internet and internet marketing. This is a subject that is not taught in film schools or well known to many film and industry leaders.
After this enterprise Mr. van Vlerken went on to create the world's largest library of Microsoft just-in-time (on-demand) videos utilizing more than 23 patents that he developed for ultra-fast-cognictive-learning. He create more than 6000 video-clips in 3 languages. Still the largest Microsoft library created by a single company using only internal, trained specialists.
Since 2010 Mr. van Vlerken has entered the video-production and film production business. His main company Bangkok Video Productions spent the first 5 years undergoing its own aprentiship into the Thailand and worldwide film industry, however it had its own great advantage. BVP knew how to market globably using the internet. This has allowed BVP to undertake a consistant string of video and film assignments from around the world. we have now undertaken more than 300 video and film assignments, mostly from international clients.

To be sucessful in the film industry you must not only be good at your own specific job. i.e. cameraman or editor. You need to understand every other job, to know the entire process, the entire industry.
Most importantly, you need to know this in context o todays technology, not only within the industry but outside of the industry
You need to know the new ways to raise funds.
You need to know the new ways to find and create team members.
You need to know how to find cast & extras.
You need to know how to make money from your production.
You need to know the new non-traditional opportunities for distributship.
You need to know so many things hat you better find somewhere to learn all of this.
